More about Jazz Bistro

Located on Victoria Street just off Yonge-Dundas square, Jazz Bistro combines great music and great food to offer a truly unforgettable guest experience. Featuring live performances six nights a week, upscale casual cuisine inspired by fresh local ingredients and a wine selection to match, Jazz Bistro provides a unique social, cultural and culinary experience in a warm, contemporary environment.

Occupying the former Senator Steakhouse space, famous for being a top North American live jazz destination and having hosted world-class musicians. Jazz Bistro is re-inventing that legacy within a creative modernized design that respects guests and musicians alike. All three floors have been carefully curated to compliment and support live performance artists and provide a vibrant yet comfortable environment for guests. The main floor features a performance stage, complete with a state-of-the-art sound system and a one-of-a-kind Steinway piano nicknamed "Red Pops", along with a full bar and dining room. The second floor features a wine bar, dining that overlooks the performance stage as well as private dining facilities. The third floor features an event space with full bar and private semi-enclosed patio lounge.

Executive Chef Brad MacDonald, formerly of Centro and Sassafraz, has crafted a menu of bistro-style, seasonally inspired dishes using a blend of Mediterranean and Canada flavours. Locally grown, raised and sourced ingredients are the building blocks of a menu that inspire sharing amongst tables and jealously amongst neighbours. Brad's experiences, from growing up around his parent's rural Ontario diner to working on farms outside Stratford, Ontario to working under Alois Ming to his travels in Japan have all contributed to what will arrive at every table to whispers of adjacent curiosity.

A small yet elegant wine list compliments the flavours and aromas coming from the kitchen at Jazz Bistro, featuring accessibly priced private labels from both the New World (Canada, California, Washington, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina) and the Old World (Italy, France). 21st century versions of classic cocktails and local craft beer round out the beverage program that is sure to satisfy any sense or craving.

Jazz Bistro is the creation of respected Toronto socialites Colin and Joan Hunter. As lovers of music and fine dining, they've created a welcoming space to enjoy memorable nights of live music and great cuisine, filling a gap that was left in the Toronto entertainment scene after the closing of Top O' the Senator jazz club. Colin, a well-recorded crooner (and frequent performer at Jazz Bistro) understands that live jazz, great food and good wine are perfect compliments to each other. Joan, having a keen eye for detail, has left no stone unturned to ensure each guest feels the warmth of the space and the chill of the sound.

Enjoy a great meal, raise a glass in celebration and enjoy lingering sounds from a stage graced by some of the world's greatest jazz musicians. Your home for live jazz is closer than you think!
