Jeff's Best Buckwheat

Jeff’s Best Buckwheat products are completely New Brunswick. Despite its name, buckwheat is actually related to the rhubarb family and is a fruit. We harvest the seeds and use a stone burr mill to grind the organic buckwheat, leaving in all of the goodness. We only grow and mill buckwheat so there is no fear of the flour being cross-contaminated with gluten from grains. We use all of the components, which include flour, bran, hulls and chicken feed. Buckwheat is often called a SUPER FOOD as it is gluten free, high in protein, essential minerals and amino acids. Buckwheat flour has a slightly nutty flavor and is ideal in pancakes, cookies, muffins, breads, gravies, soups, pizza dough and is an excellent baby food. There are many excellent recipes on-line and we also have some to share. It is fun to substitute familiar recipes with buckwheat flour, but you may need to add more liquid. Our buckwheat hull pillows are very popular. Buckwheat hull pillows have been around for many years and help ease sleeplessness, body tension, night sweats and snoring. They take a few nights to get used to as the hulls rustle (babies love this), but once hooked, most say they will never sleep on anything else again.
