Jeneece Place

Jeneece Place was the dream of Jeneece Edroff, who knows firsthand the benefits of these types of facilities. Jeneece was diagnosed at age three with neurofibromitosis, a disease that has caused tumors to grow off every nerve ending in her spine. She has undergone thirteen surgeries and numerous chemotherapy sessions in Vancouver. From this experience, she knows how important it is for families to have a warm and supportive place to stay close to the hospital.

Jeneece Place is owned and operated by Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island (formerly the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children). The house is located on the grounds of the Victoria General Hospital and is a 10,500 square foot home containing ten bedrooms, a large communal kitchen, dining room, games, media, activity and laundry rooms as well as outdoor play and recreation areas.

This facility would not have been possible without the incredible support of donors on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. In addition to $1.2 million of in‐kind donations from the construction industry and other suppliers, Children's Health Foundation received over 2,200 gifts ranging from small change to two $1 million leadership gifts from TELUS and the Norgaard Foundation. Children's Health Foundation also contributed $1 million to the construction of Jeneece Place.
