RE: MSA Centennial Library Building

On behalf of the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association (ADBA) we would like bring your attention to an exciting Heritage Project in Historic Downtown Abbotsford.
The ADBA has entered into a long term lease agreement with the City of Abbotsford for the Centennial Library Building.
The building will be home a magnificent and much needed community spaces, outdoor entertainment stages, a large Board Room, a kitchen, two wheelchair accessible washrooms and a large multi-purpose room; perfect for community meetings, performances and classes.
A vital part of the rejuvenation of this Centennial Building will be changes that assure the entire facility is disability friendly. Currently the building has no accessibility features. Our goal is to create an inclusive community facility, allowing those in our community with mobility issues to be included, without barriers in the Arts, Heritage and Community events that will take place in the building and also in the park surrounding it.
Key to making this project work, and what we really feel makes it unique, is how the community is working together to make it a reality. The estimated costs for the project is $360000, most of which will be used for accessibility purposes.
In addition, with the rejuvenation of the building, the natural phase 2 will be the transformation of the surrounding park - Jubilee Park. The Centennial Building sits, in Jubilee Park and we recognize that with the vibrancy of the Arts Culture, will come a fresh new feel for the park. We foresee this area, as we have fondly nicknamed “The Jubilee Centre”, as a future vibrant, family oriented, arts and heritage hub of our wonderful city.
The Centennial Building will become a well-recognized community hub of Abbotsford; we excited about this project and we are excited to be bringing it to the community of Abbotsford.
