K9 Escarpment Escapes is created on the basis that all dogs, not just the big ones, need real exercise to keep them healthy and young. It is only fair for your dog to have fun while you and the family are out on the slopes, or worse yet, stuck at work all day. As they say, a tired dog is a happy dog.
A walk on the end of a leash does little for a dogs cardio. We have all seen how they can run, and this is exactly what we aim to do. Each session will be anywhere from 1-3 hrs. Whether jogging, biking, swimming, snow shoeing,or cross country skiing, the dog is always eager to follow. As fun is always number one, safety is a close second at K9 Escarpment Escapes. Constant attention is given to all dogs, and the outdoor guides motto stands, we are only as strong as our weakest link. No dog will be pushed beyond its comfort levels.
K9 Escarpment Escapes is a member of the Professional Dog Walkers Canada, and certified in dog first aid/cpr. The companies owner and his pet, Dave Cunningham and One Eyed Jack are both seasoned outdoor enthusiasts who are also certified in the St.John Ambulance Dog Therapy program. They have been exploring all types of outdoors together now for 6 years, and never miss an opportunity to get out there. Rain or snow are just an invitation to have some fun.
Every dog will undergo an evaluation to determine if he/she is appropriate for the off leash walks. Each off leash dog will need up to date rabies and distemper shots, have no previous history of hip dysplasia or other related injuries, be spayed or neutered, and have a responsive recall when tested.
For on leash dogs, just the vaccinations and spayed or neutered are required.
Any dog that shows excessive aggression will only be suitable for one on one walks.
We offer pick up and drop off to most locations. Additional costs may apply depending on distance of pick up/drop off location.
