Field Trips
Throughout the year, but usually during the spring and fall, club members take part in a number of field trips which are guided by knowledgeable club members who know the area and are willing to explain the wonders of nature to the beginner. Participants are able to learn about birds, flowers, trees, mushrooms, rocks, etc. in the Kamloops area. Some of the favorite events are the Christmas Bird Count, Swan and Eagle count in January, May Bird Fest, and annual pilgrimage up Greenstone Mountain in July to track the wildflowers. Field trips are announced in the club newsletter, on Facebook and on the club’s infoline.
Waiver forms must be signed by everyone who participates in field trips. When car-pooling, at trip-end, please offer the driver compensation for gas and wear-and-tear on the vehicle. Consider offering what you feel would be fair if you had been driving that vehicle and would be receiving the compensation.
