King and Bartlett Fish & Game Club

Hello,
We would like to tell you a little bit about King & Bartlett, our vision and mission.
Fred, after spending a lot of time at King and Bartlett over 30 years ago, received the opportunity to purchase what he believed to be one of the most amazing places on earth. Having traveled, hunting and fishing in various states and countries he came to realize what a fantastic gem King and Bartlett was.
After time, Fred’s vision shifted from an exclusive member’s only fish and game club to a destination for veterans to have the opportunity to heal, overcome and accomplish what some felt impossible.
As a former veteran, Fred had a great concern for wounded veterans. He understood how challenging their lives are and felt strongly about offering K & B as a place for nonprofit groups such as “Back in the Maine Stream” a group dedicated to wounded veterans, later expanding the offering to “Casting for Recovery” a group dedicated to women battling cancer.
Since, he and his family have invited the local children’s programs “Stratton Recreational Program” and “Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Adventure Camp” as well as other deserving groups.
All of the nonprofit groups that visit K & B yearly come as guests of the Thurston Family.
We appreciate all other guests as they truly help make the program a success ensuring the nonprofit groups can continue enjoying all that King and Bartlett has to offer.
