Kinnickinnic is a town in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,400 at the 2000 census.HistoryThe word kinnickinnic is Ojibwe in origin. It literally means "what is mixed," when referring to the mixing of indigenous plants and tobaccos.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.4 square miles (91.8 km²), all of it land.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 1,400 people, 483 households, and 396 families residing in the town. The population density was 39.5 people per square mile (15.3/km²). There were 492 housing units at an average density of 13.9 per square mile (5.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.43% White, 0.64% African American, 0.07% Asian, 0.14% from other races, and 0.71% from two or more races.
