Knotty Acres

In the spring of 2013, we left our jobs and our home and relocated to Nova Scotia with our 3 young boys in search of a healthier, simpler lifestyle, to get back to basics and teach our children life lessons that school can't teach. Knotty Acres is the name of our farm/"homestead", located near New Glasgow. We want to share our adventures and provide tips, tricks and info everyone can share. Our goal is to pay as few bills as possible by providing as much as we can for ourselves as possible using the things around us. This page is works in conjunction with our blog to share our successes, pitfalls, nifty ideas and information. We have names our homestead Knotty Acres and it is how we earn our living now. Knotty Acres has an extensive line of artisan Jams and Jellies. We use as many local and organic ingredients as possible. As seasons change and local produce allows, we often have new and exciting varieties which are available of a limited, while quantities last basis. Also very popular are our Knotty Buns...a variety of delectable, mouthwatering buns in a cinnamon bun style, but with a spin! With flavours like Apple Pie, Caramel Cinnamon, Mocha, and our signature Pictou County Pizza Bun, these are definitely not your average buns!
