When I graduated from high school I did what alot of young men do at that age. start working in the trades. I did it all. started off in saw mills and furniture factories, then I was in residential construction. Soon after, I earned myself a shot with a big company I couldn't turn down. I had to start in the shipping department but I worked my way up to being a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Now after that is were it gets really interesting. I ended up going for my C* , B* , and A* level welding tickets over the next few years and thought I had everything figured out. For me, and my daughter. One day on the way home from a job site in Vancouver my driver got us in a head on car accident with 6 passenger's including me. This was in 2011. This accident did permanent damage to my spine. I lost my whole career. I was out of work for over 2 years. I had to sell everything to qualify for welfare. The food bank I relied on heavely. in 2014 ICBC threw out the case because I was in a work vehicle. so of course lawyers want to get paid now. Not just my lawyer but the ICBC defense lawyer too. Approximately $30,000 all together. When WCB finally got back to me it was now 2015, they offered to pay for my first 2 weeks of physio treatment I received. Not even a word about lost wage replacement or retraining. I was actually in physio for over a year. thousands spent out of my own pocket. I appealed that offer months ago. To this day I have never recieved a settlement.
