Lawton's Cove Cottages

Beachfront cottage rentals on beautiful Doe Lake in the Almaguin Highlands near the village of Katrine between the towns of Huntsville and Burk's Falls. Burk's Falls, only ten minutes away, can provide all that a cottager might need: grocery stores, restaurants, liquor and beer store, craft shops and churches of almost any denomination. There is even an emergency medical facility. Huntsville Muskoka, about twenty minutes away, is a much larger centre with facilities one would expect in a major centre including a modern hospital.

The resort offers six, two and three bedroom cottages located on two acres of Doe Lake waterfront.

The cottages each have a front porch affording an excellent view of the beachfront and lake and come equipped with electric heat, two piece bathroom, a modern electric stove, refrigerator and microwave oven as well as pots, pans, dishes, toaster, kettle and coffeemaker. Each bedroom has one double bed with a new mattress. Pillows, blankets and comforters are provided but bed linens are not included. If needed, linens will be available at a small additional cost per bed per week.

There is a central shower facility with ample hot water. The grounds are well kept and there is a play area for the children with swings, slide and teeter totter.

For the adults, there is a horseshoe pit. There is a central fire pit with the wood provided for the nightly campfires. (weather permitting)

Ontario's Doe Lake consists of three connected lakes: Little Doe, where Lawton's Cove Cottages are located, Middle Doe and Big Doe, enough water to provide hours of boating pleasure. For your boating enjoyment, boats and motors are available for rental. Little Doe lake is excellent for water sports such as water-skiing, tubing, wakeboarding and windsurfing. A windsurfer is available for rent. If you bring your own boat our boat ramp can accommodate most of the smaller runabouts and there is a public ramp nearby for the larger boats.
