Ledah Birth Doula Support Services

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Ledah Birth Doula Support Services! Ledah was founded to support women during birth and to meet the growing need for labour support in Victoria and the rest of the Island.

It is now widely recognized that choosing to add a labour support person to one’s birth team can yield many positive benefits. A woman’s memories of her birth experiences last a lifetime and can have powerful effects on her self-esteem and confidence. I am committed to helping women and couples feel empowered and supported as they experience birth.

It is my goal to help mothers learn to trust in their beautiful, strong bodies and to trust in birth. The moment that a baby is born is joyous, magical, and wondrous, and it is my wish for mothers and their partners to experience the birth of their babies as fully as possible.

Who am I? I am a DONA-trained doula, with breastfeeding training from La Leche League and RNAO. I am also working toward my RN degree and will be finishing up in March of 2016, with an eye toward working in Paediatrics and Labor & Delivery. I am a mom of three, so I'm not just trained in birth support, I also know how very valuable it is!

My goal is to support both mother and partner through the birthing experience; calm your fears; help you learn relaxation techniques and birthing positions that can make labour easier; be there as a calming and reassuring presence; keep you as relaxed as possible; and make your birth the best experience it can be.

It would be an honor to have the opportunity to share this time with you. I will work to support you to birth in awareness, where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded with care, love and respect.
