Built 20 years ago by volunteers in the heart of the Gatineau Valley, the Central Gatineau Arena in Low, Quebec is a rink that is 100% volunteer operated. Municipal money plays no part in the operation of our arena that continues to operate as such.
What was once a booming rink that saw back to back events and tournaments has since become an aging establishment in dire need of updates and repairs.
Washrooms in disrepair need replacing, as well as LED lights throughout to cut energy costs.
Appropriate change rooms and a safety net are also important to accommodate players, as well as ensure the safety of spectators.
The Central Gatineau Arena has been and continues to act as a significant gathering point for this small, rural community and surrounding villages as well. A passionate village proud of its roots and heritage, we believe in supporting local and giving our children, teens and adults alike the opportunity to experience what Low has to offer, on and off the ice.
Community built this arena. We are hockey. Low IS Hockeyville.
