Manoir Ronald McDonald House Ottawa

The Ottawa House serves communities within a wide radius. Some of these areas include Cornwall, Pembroke, Renfrew, Deep River, as well as Northern Ontario, out of province and even out of the country. More than a third of our families comes from the Ottawa Valley.

Our 14-room House is "home" to over 500 families each year. Our families enjoy private, uniquely desgined bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and have access to a large fully equipped kitchen and no-charge laundry facilities. Lounges and playrooms provide an environment where families are able to meet and share their concerns and feelings and gain support from families in similar situations.

McDonald's Restaurants and their charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities, is a long-term committed partner to us. Our House receives approximately 30% of our annual operating costs from Ronald McDonald House Charities, donations from McDonald's Happy Meal Program. In addition to this commitment, our House also receives in-kind cash support through events, suppliers, coin boxes and McHappy Day. However, we have a significant need to fundraise to raise our operating budget and our House relies on individuals, corporations in Ottawa and surrounding communities to meet our financial needs in our community. Our House does not receive any government funding.

It costs Ronald McDonald House approximately $90 per night to accommodate one family. Families, however, are only asked to contribute $10 per night towards this expense.

We depend on the support of a dedicated team of volunteers to perform the many services that the House offers to families.

Financial support from the community allows us to commit to funding programs for the coming years and will help us to continue to offer the high standard of service for which our House has become known and continue to welcome families through our front door.
