Allow me to introduce myself: I am Matthew McHugh. I currently operate my own painting and finishing company. I have been in the painting industry for over 10 years now. This includes experience in both commercial and residential painting. I have recently been involved in some renovation projects which I have given me the opportunity to expand my painting by way of trimming (finish carpentry) as well as taping and plastering. In experiencing these trades, I have come to realize that I appreciate these trades because we as painters accentuate the outcome by applying the paint in the best way possible. Finishing is a craft in itself and I fully enjoy showing this craft off by following the correct steps in preparation for spraying. I have years of experience staining and take pride in making sure that customers are satisfied with all of the colours in their house. I leave a business card with paint touch up kits in order to get repeat or referred business.

I have worked for several different painting companies since I began in the industry, starting off with student works back in 1998. I then adventured on my own in 2000-2003. During this time I contracted work through Quality First painting as well as Paramount Painting and Renovating. I obtained a general business diploma from Conestoga College during the 03 and 04 years. Upon graduation, I then applied myself in the operation management field, working for a company being responsible for hiring sub trades and maintaining the property, during the summers of my college years. I continued painting on the side during this time doing repaints for repeat customers.

These experiences have shown me that customer satisfaction is the most important factor in growing my company. An important lesson I have learned is that the painting itself is easy; it's the detailed planning and execution of prep work that happens that brings your vision to reality. I strive to show quality workmanship and professionalism on all levels. I have liability insurance as well as a clearance certificate to prove that I am fully insured and responsible for my workers.
