Since 1973, MacNaughton Hermsen Britton Clarkson Planning Limited (“MHBC”) has been delivering a full range of planning services that have helped communities to thrive. MHBC’s broad base of experience includes land use planning, Official Plan and Zoning By-law reviews, master planning and secondary planning, urban design, streetscape studies, cultural heritage planning, landscape planning, and Community Improvement Plans. The varying scope and geographical extent of our past work has provided us with the opportunity to develop an approach incorporating detailed research, on-site field studies, and public consultation to develop balanced and creative solutions for both private and public sector clients. This range of experience has established an ethos of quality and customer satisfaction within the firm.

As a result of our detail-oriented approach, MHBC has received numerous awards including The Margaret Nicholas Hill Cultural Heritage Landscape Award, the City of Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture Award of Merit, the St. Catharine’s Community Design Award, and numerous awards from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).

Our firm is headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario and has five offices located within Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area, with a staff of more than 60 planners, landscape architects, heritage planners, technicians, and urban designers.
