Musical Chairs-Estate Sale Liqiudators

This store started as a project to help out a 90 year old who owned it and had the WORST nightmare tenants. It was the grossest place I have ever seen. Worthy of a horror film. Out of shock, sympathy and outrage, combined with a lack of a current project I started to help him. We sent 8 five gallon paint pails of used syringes to harm reduction before we were done. The old man comes with the store...a fixture, you will see him at the shows.

It took months to cleaned the place and empty it out. The big empty space started the wheels spinning.

My first thought was to start a collective, where different people or groups could share the space, incorporating music, art, local food or any small business concept that would fit in.. People love the idea.
I started buying and selling with the lofty goal of earning what I would earn in a crappy mc-job. I had no clue what I was doing and made some mistakes, but since then I have learned a lot. I know know terms like mid-century modern. It turned out to be fun, finding all kinds of cool pieces and meeting great people buying and selling.
I rented cheap jam space to some young bands and loved the aura of the live music in the space, it really inspired me to work, and I discovered that we are so far from the neighbours the noise doesn't bother anyone. This inspired the name Musical Chairs.

A girl walked in the door one day and offered to paint me a sign for the store, that's how we ended up with the AWESOME mural on the side! Then a fellow from San Salvadore contributed the front murals which look like tiles. Contact me for info on the artists.
