Nicola Valley Community Theatre Society

Located in Merritt, B.C., the Nicola Valley Community Theatre Society has a VISION: To build a community-owned and supported four-screen movie theatre which will be a source of revenue to support and promote arts and culture, as well as other community initiatives and projects in the Nicola Valley.

The Nicola Valley Community Theatre Society is proposing to build a new 14,000 sq. ft. stand-alone building with four screens and state of the art technology providing a high quality experience whether watching first run movies, 3D feature movies, specials showings of feature attractions (live-streaming of sport and culture events, etc.), live musical performances and other events and specialty films.

The movie theatre will be located on the south east corner of Garcia Street and Coutlee Avenue.
In addition to the four theatres or screen rooms, the Nicola Valley Community Theatre Society will have a concession area, lobby, office and a storage area. One of the screen rooms will be designed for multi-purpose use, including arts and culture performances and productions, and other events for which a stage is needed.

The primary focus of the Nicola Valley Community Theatre Society will be showing first-run movies. In recognition of the relatively small market size, the movie theatre will also offer an array of products and services to appeal to as broad a range of the population as possible.
