Open Arms Boarding Kennel and Daycare offers full dog boarding and daycare services, as well as boarding for cats and other small pets.

Open Arms Boarding Kennel and Daycare in River Ryan, Nova Scotia is a safe, fun, and inclusive space for any dog who needs a home away from home or a spot to play for the day. Every dog is welcome — shy or outgoing, young or old, spry or infirm. Our mission is to use our knowledge and experience to make each client’s stay the happiest, healthiest, and least stressful it can possibly be. We post lots of daily pictures and videos to reduce our human clients’ stress as much as possible, too!

Unlike some boarding kennels, we don’t refuse dogs just because they’re timid or asocial. Every interaction at Open Arms is handled with care and knowledge learned through years of experience to make sure everyone stays safe and happy. This allows us to include clients who are often turned away from other kennels because of their special medical or behavioural needs. Let us know how we can help care for your furry family members. *Drop off and pick up
Drop off and pick up run BY APPOINTMENT during business hours. Drop off and pick up outside these hours can often be arranged minimum one day ahead of time; a $5 fee may apply.

*Vaccination Policy
All dogs who stay or play with us are required to be up to date on their vaccinations for parvo/distemper (DA2PP) and kennel cough (Bordetella). Please check with your vet to make sure your dog is up to date on both these vaccines; if they aren't up to date, the vaccines can be given as little as 72 hours before the first visit. Senior dogs and those with documented vaccine allergies are exempt from this requirement.

*Viewing the Kennel
Viewing the kennel is done by appointment in the evenings after daycare has gone home, to minimize stress on the dogs and noise for our neighbours. Please get in touch for available times!
