Bob became interested in this as a form of art, quite by accident, while researching a patent of his own. He came to view the patent 'artwork', or drawings, that accompany most patent applications as the most authentic view inside of the mind of the inventor while engaged in the creative process. While most inventors were probably deeply ensconced in their invention and not considering their drawings as artwork, they put great effort into creating the drawings.
Additionally, because these were patent drawings they were tasked with the challenge of capturing and communicating to others something that, by the nature of the application, never existed before.
Bob appreciates the truth and beauty of the inventor and the original documents.
"My artistic process is that I create artful pieces while staying as true to the original patent drawings as possible."
