History
Pathways began in November 1975 as “The South Okanagan Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Program” with two counsellors. Six years later the organization was incorporated as a provincial charitable society under the name of “The South Okanagan Alcohol Counselling Service” with funding provided by the provincial government of British Columbia. In 1985, the group registered as a charitable organization with Revenue Canada and was incorporated under the B.C. Society Act as “Pathways Addictions Resource Centre”.

As of 2015, Pathways employs a total of six counsellors, facilitators and coordinators who deliver a variety of services for youth and adults. Two administrative staff and a part-time financial officer provide essential support for services. A methadone clinic under the direction of a physician is held weekly. A volunteer Board of Directors is responsible for governance of Pathways. Pathways maintains a video and book lending library for community members.
