Paul Andrews - Fine Furniture Studio

Paul has been working with wood for over twenty years. After leaving behind a legal career in Toronto’s financial industry, Paul decided to focus his efforts exclusively on the design and construction of fine furniture. With that in mind, he pursued formal studies in the Craftsman Program at the Inside Passage School of Fine Cabinetmaking in Roberts Creek, British Columbia. Under the supervision of Robert Van Norman, Resident Craftsman and Instructor, Paul was introduced to the methods of James Krenov, widely considered to be one of the most influential figures in 20th century woodworking. The following year, Paul joined the Nine-Month Comprehensive Program taught by Lead Instructor Aled Lewis at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. With a design sense influenced by his Scandinavian heritage and inspired by the mid-century modern revival, Paul now designs and builds bespoke and limited production studio furniture on a commission and speculative basis, and his work can be found in various private collections and galleries.

]Paul works out of a studio workshop located in a barn beside his house on a modest homestead just outside of Picton in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. A small gallery containing works currently available for purchase is located on the second floor of the shop.
