Pheasant Hill Produce Farm in Middle Musquodoboit, NS was created in 2012 to capitalize on years of natural gardening experience and beautiful growing resources while providing customers with wholesome, fresh vegetables and flowers to enjoy. We grow many mixed vegetable and cut flower gardens to take full advantage of companion planting and beneficial insects. These include English cucumbers as well as varied herbs, pole beans, sweet and hot peppers, onions, summer and winter squash, tomatoes, seasonal floral bouquets and our signature sunflower bunches. We employ only naturally biodegradable fertilizers and organic integrated pest management practices. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are ever used at any stage of growing – from seedling to your table. We try our best to work with the natural environment by using crop rotations, local farm compost, cover crops, wild butterfly and beneficial insect gardens to attract a host of allies for biological control and simple physical deterrents to discourage larger pest problems. As a result, we can offer the freshness of home garden produce and flowers to friends and neighbours that are both safe and wholesome.
