Plank Industries Woodworking and Packaging, a Service Centre of the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre (KRRC), officially opened in the spring of 2014 following a merger of Plank ‘N Hammer and Apple Tree Industries.
Community-based vocational training has
been part of KRRC’s programming since
1980, and continues to grow with ever evolving contracts and community employment opportunities. Plank Industries offers supportive services to businesses, entrepreneurs and individual customers.
Work is completed in a team oriented environment, providing a sense of pride and accomplishment for participants. Services include carpentry, furniture refinishing, labeling and shrink-wrapping, packaging and specialty oven-baked dog treats called Dog-Gone Goodies.
An onsite portable mill offers the opportunity for participant involvement in taking raw materials to a usable product for the woodworking area and supporting the popular production of kindling.
Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre is an accredited organization, offering supportive living, learning and working environments for adults and youth, and has been serving the community for over 50 years.
