Port Protection Solstice Festival

Port Protection Alaska is a unique community in rural Alaska. Created by @Terri Metcalf, community organizer, with the help of the community of Port Protection Alaska on or around June 21st, the longest day of the year, to celebrate Alaska and the creative individuals that inhabit the area.
This festival gives area locals and visitors the opportunity to come together, for some more than 12 hours by boat, 4 hours by car, or 1 hour by float plane, to celebrate the midnight sun. Solstice Fest provides an opportunity to play music with others, to sell art, to eat together and to socialize and make friends. Surrounding communities rarely exceed 100 people and do not have the community services more populated areas provide. Port Protection Solstice fest is a community resource providing commerce, art and culture in rural areas.
For visitors to the festival it provides an opportunity to see a part of Alaska few will ever experience, meet people and see first hand how a rural community thrives. Port Protection Music Festival is an open invitation to anyone willing to make the hike to experience music, art and community in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
