Prairie Centre for Mindfulness was founded by Joanne Frederick, Registered Psychologist, as a way to offer individuals, groups and a wide range of organizations, schools and businesses learn about the benefits of integrating mindfulness into their lives. The concept of mindfulness is at the core of Joanne’s work with people. She has completed the intensive requirements to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the Center for Mindfulness (CFM), University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBSR is an evidence-based program that combines meditation and gentle yoga as tools in learning how to use mind and body to do what no one else can do for you: take charge of your health and feel more in control of your life. It is the gold standard of mindfulness-based programs and is supported by over three decades of research.
As the only Registered Psychologist in Saskatchewan to have completed the rigorous training through the CFM, Joanne offers MBSR and mindfulness-based professional services in not only Regina, but across Saskatchewan and beyond. She is a dynamic teacher and presenter who skillfully blends her knowledge, wisdom and experience with equal parts of warmth, humour and compassion.
