Private Ear Recording is a multi room recording and mixing facility located in downtown Winnipeg. Home of local producer/engineers John Paul Peters and Shawn Dealey, Private Ear is capable of handling a wide range of clients and projects, everything from singer/songwritters to large big bands, all analog sessions to 5.1 mixing and everything in between.
Our A room is a great combination of vintage and modern gear built around a Neotek Elite II mixing console, Studer A827 and massive Protools HDX Rig (64 I/O). Monitoring by ATC, Yamaha and Adam.
Our B room is built around a Protools HD Native rig with Apogee Symphony converters and an amazing collection of boutique outboard gear. Combined With Barefoot Micromain 27 speakers, it is a truly world class mix/overdub room.
We also offer location recording and professional rehearsal spaces.

Since 1994, Private Ear has been one of Winnipeg’s premiere recording studios. Nominated 3 times for Studio of the Year at the Western Canada Music Awards, Private Ear has recorded several Juno-winning and -nominated albums, plus over a dozen WCMA-winning and -nominated albums and three Engineer of the Year nominations. We are also a Manitoba Film and Music-accredited studio.
