More about Pulp Nocturne 1930

Pulp Nocturne 1930 is a supernatural setting in 1930 New York City. Things have ceased being normal and proper. Making a buck is hard enough, even if it is dishonest. Even the dead are out to get a piece of the action these days.

An evil hunger has started to feast on the unsuspecting of New York City. The damned and their minions have found a means and an opportunity and plan on using that to spread chaos and horror to every living soul in the city. Deals have been made with horrific consequences. The forces of evil have started to congregate in vast numbers.

All is not lost. An unlikely group has been drawn together into the struggle by the forces of Order. The heroes must not fail; the city of New York and ultimately the world hang in the balance.

Welcome one and all to Pulp Nocturne 1930! This is devoted to several of my long-standing passions. Pulp heroism, horror and the supernatural, weird science, film noir, the paranormal and role-playing games. It is my hope that you all can find the enjoyment that I have from these passions of mine.

I have been involved with role-playing games since 1978. It was a Parade Magazine article about Dungeons and Dragons and Gary Gygax that lead me to playing role-playing games. Folks I have an imagination and I’m not afraid to use it. At the same time I was an avid reader and read Doc Savage novels, books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Robert Heinlein, H.P. Lovecraft and Arthur Conan Doyle. With my imagination and those stories I was able to find vast worlds to enjoy and experience. Pulp Nocturne 1930 is the indirect product of those explorations.

It’s my intention for Pulp Nocturne 1930 to be a gathering of like-minded souls. A place to share exploits and adventures. To walk into the inky darkness of a good scare and leave smiling and pondering what-if.
If one has to have a motto, it is a tradition of the pulps you know, mine has to be: Enjoy, explore and have fun!
