Dwynwyn Droppo uses Massage Therapy and remedial exercise as a means to manipulate and correct painful postural compensation and poor ergonomic body use.
Massage Therapy is the manual application of a variety of superficial and deep touch techniques, which are applied to the soft tissues of the body, like the skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Mobilizations and lower grade joint manipulations may also be applied as part of the interchangeable techniques. Some aims of treatment would be to condition the soft tissue, restore range of motion in joints, maintain length and strength of muscles, improve posture, manage chronic conditions, and to aid in the healing process after being injured or stressed.
Touch can stimulate many perceived psychological and actual physiological changes within the body. Gentle and rhythmical, non invasive applications of a variety of techniques can have mesmerizing and pacifying effects on the body. Mental clarity and relaxation occurs as anxiety and emotional tension is released and reduced. More specific techniques may effect deeper structures like muscles, tendons and ligaments. When specific techniques are applied skillfully, joint alignment, muscle firing sequence, and posture can all be influenced.
Balancing the relationship between the soft tissues and the joints allows the body to function with less resistance, better efficiency, promotes strength, endurance, stamina and increases overall performance.
Less resistance also means less effort and therefor daily tasks or activities and exercises may be achieved with more ease.
