Inspections and Sampling
Asbestos sampling is a form of destructive testing in which a sample of the material(s) suspected to be asbestos is taken and analyzed by a 3rd party accredited laboratory.

If you are planning any kind of renovation, it is in your best interest to have suspect materials tested before demolition begins.

If you are planning on demolishing any kind of building, it must be inspected and tested before moving forward. If any asbestos is found, abatement must take place before demolition can commence. Most landfills will not take demolition debris unless it is accompanied by the proper paperwork saying that it is asbestos free material.

Abatement
There are three types of risk levels when dealing with asbestos in Alberta:
Low risk
Medium Risk
High Risk

Each risk level has different procedures ranging from minimal set up to a full air tight, negative air containment complete with decontamination units and showers.
