Salt of the Earth Farm - Kingston, Ontario

Only a short bike ride from downtown, we have been blessed with
the stewardship of a beautiful and diverse piece of our city's natural
heritage. We want to work with our friends and neighbours, local
businesses and other farmers to nurture and rejuvenate this special
piece of land as a hallmark of sustainable agriculture in this region.

We are offering the farm's goods in the form of the Community Supported Agriculture model. Consumers pay in advance for eggs, vegetables and meat, which are offered on a regular basis throughout the growing season: vegetables and eggs on a weekly schedule, and meats by the side and quarter as they become available.

This system ensures us, as farmers, of an outlet for our production and operating capital. It ensures you, as a consumer, of a reliable, and high quality source of food you can trust. We invite you to not only invest in your health and a neighbourhood farm, but to visit, participate and get involved in the exciting and endlessly interesting process of farming.

Salt of the Earth Farm is operated by Charles Summers and Morgan Alger, on Charles' family's property. Charles has spent the last decade farming in Nova Scotia's magical Annapolis Valley, and has come home to this wonderful opportunity to not only grow food, but apply this experiences in the environment he grew up in.

Morgan is a recent Master's graduate of Queen's who has proudly come to call Kingston home. Her passions for people, place and culture lend Salt of the Earth a unique perspective and dynamic energy.

We both believe that, pretty as nature is, the most beautiful thing growing on a farm is PEOPLE!

*Vegetable Shares*
A seasonal selection of the freshest gard produce, grown by horse power in living soil. Runs June-November and costs $25/week for subscription customers.

*Free Range Eggs*
Bright yolks, thick shells, real flavour. Run on fresh grass, fed locally grown grains. $5 per dozen for subscription customers.

*Grass fed Beef*
Custom raised for our patrons to the highest standards of health and human treatment. No weird stuff for $5/lb.
