SaskAbilities - Regina Region

SaskAbilities is a registered charity and operates under the authority of The Non-Profit Corporations Act, 1995, of Saskatchewan.
The Regina Region of SaskAbilities offers individuals with varying abilities programs and opportunities such as the Business Centre, Vocational Evaluation, and Partners in Employment to develop skills that will prepare them for the competitive employment industry. The Regina Region operates the Quality of Life Program, and the Special Needs Equipment Program that loans, repairs, and sells assistive devices. The Regina Region fundraises under the Easter Seals brand.

Business Center

The Regina Business Center provides valuable work experience and employment to individuals of varying abilities. The Business Center is a fully functioning business that manufactures products, and provides commercial services for businesses throughout Canada and the United States.

The Commercial Sewing Department manufactures numerous products such as veterinary garments and linens, laundry bags, and surgical caps and gowns.

The Wood Products Division manufactures many products such as pallets, shipping crates, and survey stakes. We are CFIA certified for international shipping containers.

The Industrial Assembly Department offers a bulk mailing service, envelope stuffing, collating and assembly of information packages, and virtually any type of small parts assembly.

Stinger Sports Equipment

SaskAbilities is the owner/operator of Stinger Sports Ringette Equipment. Stinger sticks, Mosspro and Pro ringette pants, and PADDA girdles are manufactured and/or assembled at the Regina Business Center. Vocational Evaluation

Vocational Evaluation offers a comprehensive range of vocational services to provide training, evaluate skill sets, and identify employment opportunities.

Partners in Employment

Partners in Employment offers a continuum of services to help people of varying abilities achieve community employment through job coaching, job development, and employee preparation. There are Partners in Employment offices located in Regina, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, and Yorkton.

Quality of Life Program

The Regina Branch offers Quality of Life programming year round to youth and adults living with a disability, and seasonally to children in the Regina community. Quality of Life programs provide opportunities for individuals to enjoy and enhance the important possibilities of their life, to connect to their community and improve their overall well being. These programs include the Social Leisure Youth Program, Summer Fun Program, and the Life Enrichment Program.

Community Relations and Fundraising

SaskAbilities is a proud member of Easter Seals™ Canada. With your financial support to Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan, we can continue to offer the following programs for children with varying abilities in our province:

Camp Easter Seal – Camp Easter Seal is the only completely wheelchair accessible camp facility in Saskatchewan and is dedicated to providing a barrier free experience for all campers. Campers can participate in a number of activities including horseback riding, swimming, and water skiing.

Summer Fun – Summer Fun is an urban day-camp that offers leisure and educational activities and field trips within the community.

Adaptive Technology Services – Adaptive Technology Services is dedicated to applying electronics and computers to aid in communication and daily living.

Regina holds two major fundraising events every year under the Easter Seals™ brand:

Easter Seals™ Drop Zone – Since 2006 “Superheroes” from Regina and area have rappelled down the 22 storeys that is Hill Centre Tower II in downtown Regina. Participants who raise a minimum of $1,500 not only get to see Regina from an incredible vantage point, but they also get to help a child living with disabilities go to Camp Easter Seal and remember what it’s like to just be a kid.

Easter Seals™ Paper Eggs campaign – For one month every year, some of Regina’s local retailers ask their customers if they would like to make a small donation to Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan. In return, the customer gets to write their name on a paper egg and have it displayed by the retailer.
