Saskatoon has always been a caring community. Back in the mid to late 1970s, when many Vietnamese refugees were arriving in Canada, many individuals and community organizations joined together to help them settle. It was through their compassion and dedication that the Saskatoon Open Door Society was born. And, it continues to help newcomers settle...35 years later!
Saskatoon Open Door Society offers programs and services in four main areas: Settlement & Family Services, Settlement & Community Support, Employment Services and Language Training & Daycare. The agency has approximately 170 staff plus some 300 volunteers who are engaged in many programs which connect newcomers to the community.
