Sauble Cottage rents weekly (Sat to Sat) during the summer months in 2017, from the beginning of June the end of August.

High season: $1400/wk July 8 - Aug 26
Mid season: $1300/wk June 24 - July 8
$1000/wk Aug 26 - Sept 2
$500/wk Sept 2 - 9
Low season $500/wk special rates may apply

Sauble Cottage has been in our family for over 75 years now. It has gone through many changes in that time, as you can imagine. Originally, owned by my grandparents, the cottage was a hub of activity, hosting family and friends each summer. My grandparents also owned several other cottages in the area and along the beach and they were always popular rental destinations, drawing people from near and far for summer fun. These properties were passed on to my parents. The cottage continued to be the first choice for family get-togethers and special events.

As our family grew and more space was needed, a carport was added to the building. This allowed the summer fun to continue under its shelter, whenever the sun turned to rain. The cottage was closed up every Fall until the Spring and eventually a decision was made to winterize it, to make it accessible for year-round get-togethers.

When mom and dad decided to retire and make the cottage their permanent Sauble home, the cottage was updated once again and again those changes included the carport area. They added screen windows all around the space and added an interlock brick floor to create a beautiful sun room. The space remained that way for many years, until it was finally winterized as well, turning it into a four-seasons room. The summer sun warms the room through the beach's milder seasons and the addition of a gas stove takes the chill off the fall and winter months, making the room cozy and warm. With the passing of my mom and then my dad, the property was turned over to me, my wife Deb, and our family.

Through all the changes that have been made, one thing has remained the same. The cottage has always been a place where families and friends can gather together, have fun and make memories. In keeping with that tradition, we have decided to open our doors and allow others to enjoy this wonderful cottage as well. Beginning this summer, we are accepting applications to rent the premises.

If you are looking for the perfect beach vacation spot, with all the amenities, our cottage is in the perfect location. It is, quite literally, only a couple of minutes walk to main street, with all of its interesting shops and food venues, and it's only a five minute walk to the beach! Across the street from the cottage, is the ever popular Putterama mini-golf course which has operated in the area since the 1970's and has always been one of our family's favourite pastimes.

Having the nearby towns of Wiarton, Southampton, Port Elgin and Owen Sound means you are close to even more shops, restaurants, sight-seeing activities and fun!
