The Sault Ste. Marie Golf Club originally opened in 1919 as a 9-hole golf course, designed by the accomplished golf architect George Cumming .
The great Stanley Thompson, then a teenager under the mentorship of Cumming, went on to build a legendary career. His final course creation in 1952, less than a year before his death, was to add 9 holes to the Sault Golf Club.
Today the The Sault Ste. Marie Golf Club stands as a prestigious member of the Stanley Thompson Society. The course which is rich in tradition, lies on a beautiful expanse of land overlooking the St Marys River. Tree lined fairways and a challenging layout provide a truly great golf experience.
