More about School of Complementary Therapies

The School of Complementary Therapies was opened in 1995 by Founder, Jacqueline Fairbrass, to expand the quality of education and awareness of natural healing therapies in the Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) field.

CAM stands for Complementary and Alternative Medicine which is the standard short form for health care that does not fall under the western medical model.

We continue to learn, research, and grow. Whether you are searching for personal development, beginning a new career path or expanding your practice – SCT has something to offer everyone. By coming to study with SCT you have chosen to work with holistic concepts and to embrace a life-style path in CAM.

All courses and programs at SCT are based on Holistic Health Care. Holistic comes from the Greek word ‘holos’ which means ‘whole’. In holistic health care we acknowledge that body, mind, spirit and emotion are all integral parts of who we be. By using the term holistic we are recognizing the whole person; that is every aspect of who we are.

You may have heard of the body-mind connection, or even of body, mind and spirit. But at SCT we know there is another component to us that plays a role in making us whole, and that is our ‘emotions’. Don’t believe us? Think about this. Have you ever felt so angry that you wanted to explode yet your mind was telling you that you were getting angry for no reason? Or have you ever suddenly felt sad and yet you felt there was nothing to be sad about. This is the emotions. Though true that the emotions have a lot to do with chemicals in the body we know they also have a lot to do with the sub-conscious mind. But for the purpose of explaining the holistic approach to health and well-being we use ‘body, mind, spirit and emotion’ to describe the whole person.

All courses at the SCT are based on treating the relationship between each individual and health in a holistic manner. The basis of all holistic healing arts is Energy Medicine, also known as Vibrational Medicine. The subject of Energy as a healing tool has been used and embraced by other cultures and is making great head way in our western society as a complement to our traditional allopathic medical approach. The modern approach to subtle energy is known as Quantum Physics. As this field of study continues to flourish we are seeing our beliefs about how the body functions and how health and wellness is effected by much more than what we eat, how we exercise and our genetic make-up.

The science of quantum physics is opening the door to embrace the understanding of subtle energy and harness the power of the mind in our day-to-day life. What we think has an impact on our cells and our cells make-up our body. Our thoughts affect our bodies.

In our courses, workshops and programs at SCT you will learn about subtle energy, and the relationship between spirituality and healing.

As a Student of SCT, you have chosen to embrace a Holistic approach to health care. You will learn to empower your clients as you empower your own life. Students are encouraged to find their passion. We begin by discovering what we want; dreaming the dream. Once we have found this dream, we learn to believe. All our instructors and assistants behind the scenes believe in you and your dream.

The final step belongs to you; you make it real; the manifestation begins and your dream comes to life. You start to live the life you have always wanted. Enjoy your training with SCT. Bring your own flavor to it and allow yourself to dream big!
