More about Sean Doe Photography

I was raised in a small town called Thrums outside of the slightly larger small town of Nelson, British Columbia in Canada. Using my parents Canon AE-1, I began taking photos in my teenage years. Many more cameras and making hundreds of photographs since that AE-1, I began to realize the power of medium after being exposed to Andreas Gursky's Werke/Works 80-08 at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 2009.

Over the course of the past decade, I have worked to develop my photography through experimentation and extensive self-teaching as well as formal training at Vancouver’s Langara College. Along the way, gaining exposure both in printed form as well as online. In a 2013, VSCO profile my work was described as I would like to think is fitting... “everyday objects become illuminated, and the scenes he captures provide a deep sentiment to the overlooked realities of modern day society.”

Today, I live on Vancouver Island, Canada and continue refining my skills in the art photography.I was raised in a small town called Thrums outside of the slightly larger small town of Nelson, British Columbia in Canada.
