Each winter, over 2000 people are admitted to hospitals in Canada as a result of a skiing or snowboarding fall, according to the Canadian Institute for Health Information, 2011.
Have you ever thought about how these people get off the ski hill to get to medical care? Ambulances and paramedics can't get to a patient in the middle of a ski hill or on a nordic trail.
The vast majority of injured skiers and boarders are helped by volunteer members of the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP). We invite you to come out and see what we do and how we do it.
