Snyepers Community Club

Our Story: Snyepers CC has operated from April 2014 to April 2016 as a recreational club with core values of inclusiveness, fairness, authenticity, humility, competition and respect. With the focus primarily towards cricket, members representing Snyepers in the local cricket league were able to reverse their fortunes of being placed last in 2014, their first year, to becoming the league Champions in both formats of the game played in 2015 through sheer teamwork and perseverance to self-improvement. In addition, Snyepers in partnership with Macdonald Island created and operated the community's first Intermediate level Adult Cricket Coaching and Training Winter Program, arranged the first visiting club tour into Fort McMurray in April 2015, and first ever club away game against the Edmonton District Leagues President’s XI team. Having accomplished so much in such a short-time, and as an incorporated non-profit society since July 7th, 2015, Snyepers Club extended its member demographic to engage with the local community at Syncrude’s Community Registration Day, entered a team in Big Brother Big Sisters Curl for Kids Sake and now is working closely with other social profits on partnership projects over the next year.
Moving Forward: With growth of the club to double its community focused and engaged member base, the Snyepers CC Board has decided to expand its objectives to a community benefit centric model:
- Extend understanding of regional diversity by driving true cross-platform networking and engagement in dialogues of regional relevance and improved community perceptions
- Engage in the welfare of the community through acts of charity, fundraising, and hosting events with accommodations to all members of the public
- Establish partnership projects with ‘like organizations’ to maximize collaborative value to the community, assist in improving networking of existing social service and non-profit organizations
- Facilitate activities for members beyond any socio-economic, physical, mental, stereotypical limitations
Our efforts have received support from local industry sponsors thus far as we evolve to becoming an innovative Community Club with growing annual goals and a mission to build a stronger and more resilient community. Please contact us to find out about more of our partnership initiatives.
