Sonya Kinkade Design launched Extreme Makeover Kindness Edition in 2011, a weeklong project that aims to redesign and makeover spaces for community agencies that wouldn`t normally be able to afford a makeover. Not only do they make the space beautiful, they make it much more functional.

Extreme Makeover Kindness Edition takes place during Kindness Week in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Kindness Week is a city wide initiative that encourages community members to choose to be kind and recognizes those who engage in everyday acts of kindness.

Throughout her career Sonya has received several accolades including Diamond Award Winner for the 2009 & 2010 Stittsville News Readers Choice Awards, Voted New Business of the Year 2011 Kanata Chamber of Commerce People’s Choice Awards, 2012 Bronze Award Winner in the CDECA Decorating & Design Competition and awarded the Community Builder Award 2012 from the United Way for her charity work on Extreme Makeover Kindness Edition.
