St. John Ambulance Manitoba

● SJA Manitoba is a charitable organization that began in 1911. SJA Canada celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2008 and as part of the Order of St John; we are constituent members of the oldest charitable organization in the world tracing our history back some 900 years.

● in 2012, St John Ambulance Manitoba trained over 20,000 Manitobans in first aid, CPR and AED.
● in 2012, St. John Ambulance Volunteers gave over 30,000 hours of volunteer service to the community.
● St John Ambulance Volunteers provide Youth and Adult duty at public events, Therapy Dog visits to senior citizens and Special paws for Special Children ; a program working with children with autism as well as our Partnership with the Winnipeg Humane Society – the See Spot Read Program. See Spot Read uses SJA Therapy Dogs to improve reading skills and socialization of young readers as they teach the Therapy Dogs how to read.
● Our Youth Program is a first aid program that teaches young people invaluable life-saving skills. It also teaches incredible Leadership and personal growth. The Youth Program is totally subsidized by SJA operations and costs the youth and their parents nothing to participate.
