St. Rene Goupil & St. Luke

Both St. Rene Goupil and St. Luke are the patron saints of our school. St. Rene Goupil lived from May 15, 1608 until September 23, 1642. He was a French Missionary and one of the first North American martyrs of the Roman Catholic Church. He was canonized on June 29, 1930 and is the patron saint of anesthetists. St. Luke, the writer of the Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles, was born in Syria and trained as a Physician. He is the patron saint of artists, physicians and surgeons.
