Our church was established approximately 140 years ago. It started as a Bible study and eventually developed into an established church. We are a Congregational church in that the final voting power rests in the hands of the members. We are affiliated with the NACCC (National Association of Congregational Christian Churches), a somewhat loose association of churches based out of Wisconsin. We also have various denominations and backgrounds represented at Sturges. We maintain some older traditions in our service and at the same time initiating newer approaches. All are welcome to attend, and those who have attended for some time, and are ready for membership, are encouraged to join. You must be a member to be able to vote in our church business meetings and membership is a sign that you have made a commitment to being a part of our fellowship. We can provide more materials and answers to any questions you may have. We want you to feel welcome!
