More about Summit School of Curling

The Summit School of Curling is a newly formed group of coaches and students, who wish to promote the sport of curling in our region. Our goal is to teach the newest and accredited techniques of curling, to individuals from 12 years old and up.

We run our programs out of the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club, located just outside the Town
of Hawkesbury, Ontario, but are capable of travelling to other clubs if needed. We are associated with École secondaire Le Sommet, where we run a concentrated sports program for kids wishing to develop the skills required for professional play.

We currently have 14 students at a variety of ages in both boys and girls divisions, competing at
U15, U18 and U21 levels. We compete locally, provincially, inter-provincially and internationally throughout the year. The students come from all over the region including but not limited to Cornwall, Cumberland, Ottawa, Russell, and Vankleek Hill.

We train with the most up to date equipment to allow our students every advantage to understand
the mechanics of curling. Whether it is on the ice or our training programs are being sought after
from other coaches all over Ontario and Quebec. Our coaching sta are all trained at OCA and CCA levels for club play, competition play, and national play. We are recognized not only by our peers, but are now starting to be sponsored by some manufacturers.

The amazing yet draining part is that we are a non prot organization. We do not charge for our
services unless we are charged by the clubs or events. All coaching is volunteer, and certications are paid by the coaches. All equipment is bought by the coaches or from generous donations from companies who wish to see the kids progress and wish to see the sport of curling grow.
