Superior North Victim Services

Provides immediate, short term crisis intervention services to individuals affected by crime and tragedy
Provides information and referrals to appropriate resources and services
Ensures victims receive and continue to receive support and assistance
Advocates on behalf of victims
Provides on-site or telephone assistance

Helps victims:
Cope with the impact of a traumatic event
Identify options and choices at a time when victims may need guidance and direction
Regain a sense of personal control
Return their life to a desired degree of stability
Validate emotions and reactions

Provides support for the following types of occurrence:
Assault
Break and enter
Domestic violence
Elder abuse
Homicide
Motor vehicle accidents
Multi-casualty occurrences
Robbery
Sexual Assault
Sudden Death
Suicide

Volunteers
Recruits individuals to provide support to victims
Provides individuals with specialized training at no cost

Volunteers will:
Assist in developing a personalized safety plan for the victim
Provide information about legal assistance and programs
Offer referrals to long-term service providers within the community
Provide temporary practical and emotional support
