SCREEN PRINTING:
Screen printing is a technique that uses a framed mesh screen and an ink-blocking stencil to print a desired image. It can be used to print onto textiles, paper, wood, and even glass.
DESIGN
We process text and artwork so that the design can be printed.
Artwork must transferred onto a film positive before printing.
SCREENS
Metal screens work best for screen printing on clothing. Different mesh sizes work better for different inks and designs.
SCREEN PREP
The screen must be cleaned and coated with a light emulsion.
EXPOSURE
The film positive is placed on the screen and exposed to light. Remaining emulsion is washed out with water.
PRINTING
The screen is then mounted to the press and aligned. A squeegee is used to apply ink through the screen onto the desired material.
