Thompsons is a town in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The population was 246 at the 2010 census.GeographyThompsons is located in east-central Fort Bend County at . The town is south of the Brazos River. Smithers Lake, an artificial impoundment, occupies most of the western half of the town.Richmond, the Fort Bend County seat, is to the northwest. The city of Sugar Land borders the northern end of Thompsons but is on the north side of the Brazos, with the nearest road crossing at Interstate 69 10mi northwest of Thompsons.According to the United States Census Bureau, Thompsons has a total area of 21.5km2, of which 12.8km2 is land and 8.8km2, or 40.71%, is water.ClimateThe climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.
