Tilly's Horsemanship

There is this passion that I have with working with horses that can't be tamed. The language, the feel and the rewards a horse can bring to the table is unbelievable, and something I can never compete with, so I join them.

I've been working horses for as long as I can remember. And for many, that's not very long. I'm only 18, fresh out of high school and I have some big dreams in this very competitive world of horses. I've ridden many, many different types, breeds and personalities of horses and the day my excitement and motivation to go and play with a horse fades, I'll need to find a new career. The biggest highlight of riding and training horses would be my feral mustang I adopted in March of 2014. I adopted him 14 days after he was captured and he was my biggest accomplishment! His name is Tips and he's pictured in the profile picture!

Some amazingly talented horsemen are my greatest motivation and the people I look up too, name's like Ray Hunt, Tom Dorance, Buck Brannaman, Martin Black, Stefanie Travers, Peter Campbell and Jonathan Field. This list isn't just limited to these great horseman, but it'll give you a pretty good idea of who inspires me to chase these dreams.

Through my years of working with horses, I have been lucky enough to participate in some clinics and work for a very big name. I spent the summer of 2013 working for Jonathan Field and he taught me many great things to better myself as a horseman. I have also spent hours in the saddle with Stefanie Travers, who is my biggest role model. I've also spent many hours watching videos, studying articles, and reading books by numerous other great horseman as well, and that's what has given me some of my foundation. The horse's gave me the rest! The horses are our biggest teachers, and are the most forgiving. They have taught me the importance of timing, balance and feel as well as much more!
