Vancouver First Church of the Nazarene

Our congregation gathers for worship at 998 E. 19th Ave, near the intersection of Kingsway and Windsor Street. We are made up of people from the neighborhood as well as from across the GVRD. We are an intercultural and intergenerational congregation, reflecting the diversity of our city.

Our life together includes activities found in most Christian churches: worship; spiritual formation; Christian education; Bible study; caregiving; fellowship; hospitality and prayer. Most of our ministries are led by volunteers who joyfully share their gifts and service with others. We actively serve our immediate community through our English as a Second Language Classes, English Conversation Club, Scouts Canada and participation in the activities of the Dickens Community Group to improve the quality of living in our neighborhood. We also provide volunteer and financial support to ministries such as Mission Possible, Parent Support Group for Families of Mentally Handicapped Adults Society, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, SA Foundation, and Heal the Kids (working with orphans and vulnerable children around the world).

Our desire is to be a community that faithfully represents the life and mission of Jesus Christ in our world today. To this end, we are intentional about responding to Jesus’ invitation to COME to Him in repentance and faith; to FOLLOW Jesus and learn from Him how to live our everyday lives; to RECEIVE from Jesus the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit; and to GO with Jesus into our homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and world in loving service to all people.
