The Vancouver School of Expressive Arts Therapy offers a comprehensive training program for individuals who want to pursue a career in expressive arts therapy.
This 800-hour training includes experiential discovery through the arts, theory and philosophy of practice and engagement of the methods of arts-based therapy through field work and reflective practice. This program offers a unique perspective that fosters the understanding of theory, principles and practices to support social change and social action. Graduates can choose to apply their learning in a range of fields such as one-on-one expressive arts therapy, education, health and wellness, community organizations, community service and social activism.
Our training is suitable for those who wish to obtain an Expressive Arts Therapy diploma or for those who are eligible to continue their studies and pursue a Masters degree with the European Graduate School.
The full-time program takes six months to complete and runs March through August. Students are in class Monday - Wednesday and some evenings.
The part-time program extends over a ten-month period that begins in the fall of each year. Classes are scheduled on Wednesday evenings and over 15 intensive weekends, so that students are able to maintain their personal and working life commitments.
